When I was a student in Jr. High, my history teacher did a brief genealogy report on a fellow classmate and myself. For me she chose the Tappana name to research and much of what she related is in the above article,  however the last paragraph of the newspaper article is in error since it states; "the name Tappana was well known in Spain", when it is known that the name was invented in America and as my teacher stated "the name was created.." Genealogists believe the Tappana name was created by Charles (Carlos) the son of Don Carlos de Espana, who was a consul in America.
