The Tree Of Destiny
Out of the dust the thorn was born and grew into a tree,
Upswinging arms with tender leaves
It sweat in the heat of day,
knowing what it was to be.
Yet grew strong with baptismal rain
crying out, crying out, I am
The "Tree Of Destiny."

The bloom sprung gentle , petals white;
It's voice cried out
"Come forth, come forth, I cry, I plea,
I am the tree of destiny."
It's fruit came  wandering a crimson red
Like drops of blood, while weeping, shed!
"Listen, Listen, can't you see,
I am the tree of destiny"?

Years go by, the dawn, the night;
Days of peace, centuries of strife.
It's arms entangled in to a web,
Lives wasted, wars were led.
It's heart is weeping while its children spread.
It shouts, it shouts,
"Can't you hear, can't you see,
I am the tree of destiny."

Mans heart baked from emblazoned sun
Hard, crusty! Lusty flesh,
Power, greed and regal thrones;
"No king, nor messiah shall reign in my land,
Angry men craving power,
Temptress women, enticing sin,
I shall not see, I shall not see
The tree of destiny."

The tree in pain as its branch was severed
its sap dripped down so cold
For the time had come, it was foretold
The Honored man will be slain.
From the branch the crown was made,
And placed upon His brow;
"No one to hear, no one to see,
Cried the tree of destiny!"

Day ablaze, the storm enraged, the earth in fury shook.
Man stood in disgrace, "shame upon their face!
While the tree screamed out and one man heard
He took a broken branch, and from this
a staff was made, then  carefully
To a foreign land was laid.
It soon took forth for the world to be,
DESCENDANTS for all to see!

If perchance you stroll the night,
Listen to it whisper;
"We live, we live,
For the MAN OF DESTINY!"
